Have it ever happened to you to have a recipe on my bucket list for as long as you remember and even though it seems like you see that particular recipe in every magazine, cookbook blog somehow you never find the time to make it?
Texas Chocolate sheet cake has been one of those recipes that I keep postponing making for like forever but I finally got around making it. And not just any kind of Texas chocolate sheet cake recipe, but one that has been passed from generation to generations.
My friend Carrian, the wonderful blogger behind Oh Sweet Basil picked this Texas sheet cake as her family favorite and after making it I understood one a simple, thin cake can make your heart skip a beat.
The cake is made in a big sheet cake (thus the name) and once it’s out of the oven and slightly cooled, a thin layer of rich fudgy warm frosting is spread on top of it.
The cake itself is soft and moist, sweet and chocolate-y.
