Take your weekend breakfast up a notch with this easy to make chocolate chip coffee cake with coffee icing! Now you can eat your coffee and drink it too!
With every holiday season, we plan on being more organized. I make lists long before Christmas with things we need to do, things to have to buy and even plan our menu weeks in advance. And with every year we have last minute things popping up, last minute events we need to attend, someone gets sick when you least expect and of course, at least one dozen of cookies get burn the night before a cookie exchange.
It throws me off and I’m not an easy one to get back in the game like nothing happened.
That’s why I need cake in my life. And not just any cake, but one coffee cake made with strong brewed coffee and dotted with mini chocolate chips in and out.
A few days ago I hosted a cookies exchange get together. Of course, I was juggling several things in the same time and completely forgot to set the timer for the cookies. Yeah, it wasn’t one of my proud moments.
With no desire to make a new batch of cookies, I relied on one my comfort sweets. Coffee cake! Everyone loves a good coffee cake, but what makes mine extra special is the addition of the coffee in the cake batter and the coffee icing on top!
My friends raved about it so much that I made each one of them a chocolate chip coffee cake with coffee icing to give few days later.
If your cookies burn, spread too much or you lack decorating skills (like me) make this chocolate chip coffee cake with coffee icing and give it as a gift. Especially to coffee lovers!
I love my coffee, there’s no surprise. But what I love more than just sipping on a cup of coffee is to eat it too!
This chocolate chip coffee cake with coffee icing calls for strong brewed coffee for the coffee batter and for the icing. One of my favorite coffees is Dunkin Donuts! It comes in a wide variety of flavors, but one of my favorite is the chocolate flavored coffee (you saw that coming)
You can find Dunkin Donuts coffee at your local Walmart. Here’s a $1 off coupon to save you some money when you buy your favorite Dunkin Donut coffee.
